2012 Ice Fishing Clinic

Our annual Ice Fishing Clinic was held on February 11th, 2012 at Waterworks Pond on Presque Isle State Park. There was no ice but it was decided to have the clinic anyhow. The PFBC stocked 400 Brown Trout in the Pond on Friday Feb. 10th about 40 people showed up for the stocking. The fish were stocked in the water adjacent to the Waterworks floating platform so that the participants could fish using regular poles. The clinic is a joint effort of the S.O.N.S., DCNR and the PFBC. Presque Isle State Park Naturalist, Brian Gula as well as 32 S.O.N.S  volunteers provided hands on help to the 92 participants. Hot dogs, hot chocolate, coffee and chips were provided. The fishing was slow and only one fish was caught.
