8 Great Tuesdays August 25th, 2026

Every summer for many years the Erie Western Pennsylvania Port Authority has sponsored concerts on Erie's waterfront at Liberty This year during the August 25th   concert the SONS of Lake Erie participated in the event by offering a free hands on family fishing opportunity. Eighteen of our volunteers provided equipment, bait and their personal expertise to over 100 men, women and children who chose to participate. It was an absolutely beautiful summer evening. There were fish of many sizes and species caught including yellow perch,  blue gills, bass and round gobies. Even the small fish that were caught brought large smiles to the participants. It was great fun watching the excitement of the children who participated some adults too. A beautiful sunset capped off a successful event.
