On Sunday August 16, 2026 the North East Community Marina Authority  (NECM) and the NECM Bait & Tackle Shop sponsored a Community celebration called Walleye and Wailing Guitars.
This event was the first of its kind at this marina since NECM took over ownership from the PFBC. The event included live music, food trucks and family activities, sky diver, adult and kids fishing tournaments.

The SONS of Lake Erie sponsored the kids tournament. along with the NECM Bait & Tackle Shop. SONS volunteers set up the tournament handing out bait, loaning fishing tackle to tose who had none, measuring the fish. The kids fished inside the marina from the top of the surrounding break wall.

Each kids was provided his own fishing rod combo sponsored by the SONS and the NECM Bait and tackle shop, a SONS hat, and a bag of goodies.

The NECM main event was the adult fishing tournament that commenced at 6:00 AM with the judging at 11:00 AM. There were 29 teams entered and the top three teams were picked.
